Uruk-hai Pikes

Painted up five more of my Uruk-hai over the last couple of days. Was trying to think of what to work on next, and I figured, hey, these guys are relatively simple. So there you go.

Not the best quality picture, sadly, but it gets the general idea across. Paint scheme is as follows:
Dark Flesh on the skin, Tin Bitz on the armor followed by a brushing of Boltgun Metal. Scorched Brown on the hair and leather straps and the whole model got a wash of Badab Black. Pretty simple, yet turns out a nice result.

Mithlond High Elves

Finished my high elves in their Mithlond paint scheme, and I must say I'm really happy with how they turned out. Only four (2 blades, 2 bows) but I may do up some more later. I do still have a couple spearmen that are unpainted, so I may try a few of those as well.

Here is the paint scheme: bases are Stirland Mud with Graveyard Earth highlights. Cloaks are Mordian Blue, washed with Nuln Oil and highlighted work Enchanted Blue. Skirts(?) are Fortress Grey, washed with Azurmen Blue and highlighted with Space Wolves Grey. Gloves and shoes are Bestial Brown with Nuln Oil washes. Armor is Leadbelcher washed with Azurmen Blue and highlighted with Mithril Silver. Sashes are Ice Blue with a Nuln Oil wash and Space Wolves Grey highlight.

New Project and New Edition

Started painting four more of my High Elves the other day, going to try for something a little different. My goal is to go for a Mithlond/Lindon theme with silver armor and some grey. So far I have the faces, chainmail and skirts(?) painted, and have started on the armor. Still need to add highlights and all that good stuff, but things are progressing.

Also, really excited to see the new edition of the rules, and the new army books released. Haven't worked through them myself yet, but over all I like what I have heard so far. Can't wait to get my hands on them and see the changes. I'm liking the idea of the new ally matrix as I was disappointed when the Legions of Middle-Earth went away. Also the new tiering of the heroes gives more reason to take certain characters which is nice. Not sure how I feel about magic nerfs, as we tended not to use a lot of magic anyway, but we will see.

Anyway, hoping to have some pictures to post in the next few days of the painted elves. Hope you enjoy :)
