Mordor Troll

I actually got this guy painted a week or so ago, but just finally got around to taking a few pictures and getting them uploaded.

The skin is a heavy drybrush of Talarn Flesh, and the toe and fingernails are Komando Khaki. The armor is Boltgun Metal with a Devlan Mud wash. The leather backing/padding of the armor is Vermin Brown. The straps and belt/loincloth are Scorched Brown with Bestial Brown highlights. The metal on the hammer is also boltgun metal with a Badab Black wash, and the haft is Scorched Brown. His teeth are Bleached Bone, and the gums and tongue are Blood Red. His helmet was missing the horns when I got him and I thought about trying to fabricate new ones. Eventually though, I decided to leave them missing. I figure that the holes are in roughly the right place that if he were to pull his helmet down over his face, they would be in the right spot to be eye holes in a visor. Hope you enjoy :)

  1. Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them :)
I bought this guy from someone a few years ago who was selling all of their models. He is the original metal troll, and I'm not sure how much he cost when released. I think it is a quality model though. The current plastic Mordor Troll looks nice as well (though I have never seen it in person), and I do like all the customization options in the kit. The price point on all of GW's range though is getting out of hand. I do like their models, and will probably buy more from them, but not nearly as many as I had in the past, and will continue to look on ebay and other sites for deals. I would love to buy more, but economics being what they are, I just don't have that ability. That said, comparing $41.25 US for one model vs $85 US for the three Hobbit Trolls, you are almost getting a free troll so in that light, it seems a good deal. I just get slightly depressed thinking about the price creep over the years :P
